Weekend Night Market in Hanoi (Hanoi, Vietnam)

The night market in Hanoi is approximately 3 km in length, and it starts at the Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc square and ends at the Dong Xuan market gate. On every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the whole stretch of road from Hang Dao Street to Dong Xuan Market is pedestrianised and transformed into a night market from 6.00pm to 11.00pm. Visitors are free to meander as they please, as the roads are blocked off to transportation. The market is free of commotion, as well, and visitors are instead greeted by locals conversing and music playing.

A large number of vendors/traders will set up shop to display their goods for sale. Here, you can find a plethora of stuffs from clothing, toys, souvenirs, homewares to fashion accessories, gadgets, crafts and more. All the stuff are pretty cheap here, however, bargain is still an interesting aspect in Vietnamese market culture so make sure to do it when you are about to buy something. Along the street, you can easily find many artists who are able to sketch a portrait. Just wait for a few minutes, with a reasonable price; you will receive a perfect picture of yourself drawn by a street artist.

In addition to the great shopping, visitors will also find cultural shows and entertainment activities held here. Meandering around the market, you surely will have a great night of shopping with countless finds to bring back home after your traveling time in Hanoi.
